The summit of North Franklin Peak is at 7,192 feet above sea level, which is more than 3,000 feet above the city of El Paso that lies below. Miles of hiking trails attract many visitors. On a clear day, it is possible to survey an expanse encompassing over 7,000 sq-mi. High-power telescopes are available at the summit to add even more to the viewing possibilities.
